There have been so many different movies that have been made over the years which have been based on video games and toys, with some going on to prove very successful, even being given sequels, while others have been less than impressive and bombed in a big way. That has not stopped production companies from continuing to try to cash in on the success of toys though, with plenty of new movies planned for the future.
One such movie is the much talked about Barbie film, which looks like it is definitely going to happen at some point, although there is still a lot of decisions to be made about the cast of the film. At one point it looked like Amy Schumer was going to play the lead role in the Barbie movie, before she then pulled out of the project, leaving the movie role open for another actress.
The last we heard about the Barbie project, was that Hollywood superstar Anne Hathaway was being rumoured to star in the film, although there has since been speculation that this is not going to happen after all. We think Anne we do a great job in the Barbie movie but we are not getting our hopes up and we are sure that there will be more changes made before this film ever hits the big screen.
As for what we can expect from the Barbie movie, it has been officially described as, "A doll living in 'Barbieland' is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world. A Live-action feature film based on the popular line of Barbie toys."
The Barbie film is aiming for a May 8, 2020 release date.
