Being a parent is one of the most special things in the world, while it can also be one of the most difficult things too, throwing up a number of challenges along the way and, truth be told, nobody has all the answers. Hollywood beauty Debra Messing has an 11-year-old son named Roman and Debra has opened up about motherhood, comparing it to her character in the television series The Mysteries of Laura.

Messing was a guest on The late Show with Stephen Colbert, when she explained, "It's the balancing act, it's trying to be really great at your job and a great mother and a great friend and a great ex, and you can't be great at all things all the time. So one hour you'll feel like you're really winning, and then the next hour you'll feel like 'I'm the biggest loser in the world', and that's how life is.
She added, "And I relate to that because I am a single mum and I work crazy hours... I thank God every night that I survived my day with my child! There's 100 per cent an overlap in my life and Laura's life. I'm actually pretty great when I'm watching (true crime shows) Dateline and 48 Hours and stuff, I always know... it's always the husband. And it's always arsenic, right. It happens a lot!"

Meanwhile, fans of Debra Messing can see the stunning star continuing in her lead role in the hit television series The Mysteries of Laura, which is now in its second season and continues to air on NBC on Wednesday evenings at 8/7c.
