British actor Nicholas Hoult has seen himself becoming one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood, taking on some extremely exciting roles in recent years. One of the biggest and best roles that Nicholas has landed to date, would have to be as Hank McCoy aka Beast in the X-Men movies.
With Nicholas Hoult starring in a superhero movie franchise, you might expect that he has nothing but good words to say about comic book movies but it seems that it is actually the opposite. Nicholas says that he feels that a lot of the superhero movies are just there to make money and do not focus enough on the story or the characters, something which he believes the X-Men films has been great at.
Hoult sat down to chat with the guys over at NME, when he explained to them, "At times I’ll see superhero movies and admittedly be frustrated by them. It does feel like some are just packaging and they’re not trying hard enough because they know it’s a bankable formula."
He added, "I love the X-Men films because they have a heart to them and you have actors like Michael Fassbender who brings so much to the characters. The superheroes in that world aren't smug. You don't want to watch someone who you know is going to win from the start just being awesome for two hours."
Nicholas Hoult will reprise his role as Hank McCoy aka Beast in the upcoming movie X-Men: Apocalypse, which is set to hit the big screen on May 19, 2016 in the UK and May 27, 2016 in the US.
