The world fell in love with actress Megan Mullally as the eccentric, outspoken and undeniably empowering character Karen Walker on the long running NBC sitcom Will & Grace. Will & Grace co-star Sean Hayes has been busy starring in a new NBC show called Sean Saves the World, and Will & Grace fans will be excited to hear that Miss Mullally will be reuniting with her onscreen buddy for an upcoming episode of Sean Saves the World. The episode is scheduled to air in early February of 2014.
Mullally also joined an amazing cast of young actors for a big screen project in a film released within the indie circuit in 2013 called G.B.F. (Gay Best Friend). This film follows the high school adventures of a cool teenage boy grappling with the experience of being an out gay teenager in modern times.
G.B.F. made entertainment news recently when the MPAA slapped an extreme R rating on the film, possibly due to scenes involving gay characters kissing. The masses of young people worldwide who tune in to Fox's hit TV show Glee every week will surely be puzzled by this since Glee has been promoting diversity and acceptance among young people ever since the very first episode.
Mullally stars alongside actors Michael J. Willett (United States of Tara) and Sasha Pieterse (Pretty Little Liars) in G.B.F., and with all of the great talent in this film, it is destined to become a cult classic with or without the MPAA's questionable R rating.
Megan Mullally's support of the LGBT community extends not only through her fictional onscreen characters, but through her personal life as well. Mullally is scheduled to host a fundraiser on January 16, 2014 to benefit the Stonewall National Museum & Archives at the Parker Playhouse in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
