It was way back in 2003 that we last saw actress Angelina Jolie on the big screen, playing the role of Lara Croft in the movie Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, and since then we have heard a number of rumours about a possible reboot. However, while we seem to get a lot of rumours every year about a potential Tomb Raider movie, it has still not yet happened.
It was claimed that we would get a Tomb Raider origins movie, which was going to fall in line with the Tomb Raider video games, which got fans of the franchise very excited. Unfortunately though, this did not happen and, while the Tomb Raider video games are continuing to get released, the new Tomb Raider movie reboot has still to get released.
Meanwhile, the fans of the Tomb Raider franchise have been sharing their thoughts on which actress they think should play the role of Lara Croft in the new movie. We have heard names such as Kaya Scodelario, Lyndsy Fonseca, Marie Avgeropoulos, and Camilla Luddington being tipped for the role, as well as many more beautiful and talented stars, yet still no film.
While it does not feel like there has been too much progress on the Tomb Raider movie reboot, we still have high hopes that it is going to happen in the near future. Earlier this year it was confirmed that Evan Daugherty had been brought in to pen the screenplay for the project, which means that we could see the movie beginning to come together very soon indeed.
