There are some very big and iconic roles in Hollywood cinema these days and, one of the most sought after roles for British actors, is that of James Bond, which has given us plenty of fantastic movies over the years. British hunk Daniel Craig has been playing the role of James Bond for the past few years now but it has been widely rumoured that he is going to step down as the character.
With that in mind, there have been plenty of names being linked to the possibility of taking over from Daniel Craig as the new James Bond, and while some are eager to land the role of 007, there are others who have already ruled themselves out of the running. So, which actor are we going to see landing that huge role in the near future?
Well, it seems that there are three British actors who are the favourites for the role at the moment. Many have called for us to be given the first ever black James Bond, with Luther actor Idris Elba clearly up for tackling the character. Meanwhile, Loki actor Tom Hiddleston has been heavily tipped to take over as 007, while Damian Lewis also has plenty of backing.
With all that said, it has still not been officially announced that Daniel Craig is going to step down from playing the role of James Bond, so we are still going to have to wait for that before any new star can be cast. We would not be surprised if Daniel did decide to stay on for another movie, which means that we could still have to wait for a few more years before discovering who the next James Bond will be.
