There was once a time when seeing a foreign star in a Hollywood movie was extremely rare and, up until recent years it was also quite rare to see a Latino star in an important role in a big movie. These stars were often typecast and found it difficult to land the roles which could show just how versatile and talented they actually are.
Fortunately things have changed quite a bit since those days and we are seeing more and more Latino stars coming through and proving just how good they are. One such Latino star, who has seen his career take off in quite a big way over the past few years, is 300 actor Rodrigo Santoro, who has been talking about being a Latino star in Hollywood.
Santoro explained, "What is changing in Hollywood is a reflection of what is happening in the world. With globalization, the boundaries are increasingly subtle. Nowadays, we are more a foreigner, not a Latino. With that, I'm competing with South Africans and Australians, for example. That is, while the range was opened, the competition too."
Fans of Rodrigo Santoro can next see him on the big screen, reprising his role as Xerxes in the upcoming movie sequel 300: Rise of an Empire. 300: Rise of an Empire will open on March 7 in both the Us and the UK. Meanwhile, Rodrigo will also appear in the movies Rio 2, Pele, and Jane Got a Gun, as well as the films The 33, Rio I Love You and Focus.
