While there are still plenty of people who feel that Simon Cowell should do the right thing and decide to take The X Factor off the air, if only for a few years, it seems that the music mogul is continuing on with the waning series. However, Simon has his work cut out before the start of the new season of the show, as he has only himself on the judging panel for now.
However, despite a whole host of new names being linked to the possibility of joining the judging panel on The X Factor, it seems that Simon Cowell is instead going to turn back the clock and bring in some faces from the past. Cheryl Cole, Rita Ora, and Nich Grimshaw have all confirmed that they will not return for the new season, so some familiar old faces could be just what the show needs.
According to some recent reports, former X Factor favourite Louis Walsh is on the verge of signing on to return as a judge for the new season, while it has also been claimed that Sharon Osbourne is on the brink of a return. Meanwhile, there have also been some rumours that Nicole Scherzinger would be willing to change her plans and come back to The X Factor, is the offer is right.
If Simon Cowell does go ahead and bring back these old judges, it will surely just add to the number of reasons that The X Factor has become stale and needs to go off the air. In fact, we are not sure what they could actually do to reignite interest in the show. Time to call it a day Simon.
