It really does feel like we are seeing more and more big name stars testing their acting talents these days, by taking the plunge and making the big decision to go off and try themselves in a Broadway production. One such Hollywood star, who experienced a long and successful run on the Broadway stage, is the beautiful and talented actress Michelle Williams.
Michelle Williams took on the role of Sally Bowles in the 2014 revival of Cabaret and she has admitted that it was a lot tougher than a lot of people will ever realise. Michelle has revealed that, once she brought her Broadway run to an end, she decided to just take some time off, let herself go and gain some weight.
Williams was speaking with The Associated Press, when she explained to them, "That took the stuffing out of me. I put myself out to pasture for a while after Cabaret. I ate a lot, literally, and ran lazily around fields because I was so tired."
She added, "I felt like I was pushed up against the edge of my ability every night (in Cabaret). But, as a result, I feel like I could feel my ability just inch up. So that's been exciting to go back to work with some new ideas and abilities."
Rather than getting herself back to Hollywood and working on new movie projects, Michelle Williams has instead gone back to Broadway and now stars alongside Jeff Daniels in Blackbird. As much as we love seeing Michelle on the stage, we cannot wait to see what movie project she will take on next.
