There have been quite a few disgruntled fans when it was announced that Michael B. Jordan had been cast in the role of Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch for the new The Fantastic Four reboot movie. Many felt that it was a complete miscast, although there are plenty of other people who have lent their support to the actor.

Chris Evans played the role
Michael B. Jordan has now opened up about playing the role, admitting that he is very excited about playing such an iconic character. Michael says that he spoke to former Johnny Storm actor Chris Evans about playing the role and the actor gave him some interesting words of advice.
Jordan told the Source magazine, "Nah. It is a reboot you know, it’s its own thing. It’s its own origins story. I did get a chance to talk to Chris [Evans] about it, I met him at this event and he was basically like, 'Man I can’t give you anything. You’re great, you’re awesome. Just do your thing. And enjoy it. It’s gonna be fun.'"

Michael B. Jordan has now taken over the role
He added, "That was just a really cool piece of information, words of encouragement from the guy who killed the role. He really did a really great job and hats off to him with how talented he is cause he’s doing an amazing job with Captain America. I really enjoy those films as well so that’s kind of pretty much where that was."
As well as starring Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, the rest of The Fantastic Four cast includes Kate Mara as Sue Storm aka The Invisible Woman, Miles Teller as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm aka The Thing.
