This year, Colombian-American actor Mauricio Henao decided to test the waters in “the factory of dreams”—Televisa: one of the largest and most successful television networks in the world.
The green-eyed actor who, for the past 3 years, has been working in the USA for the Spanish speaking television network Telemundo—traveled to Mexico City and signed a contract with Televisa. His strong acting skills helped him land the role of Valentin in the Mexican soap opera “La Tempestad” (The Storm). Mauricio portrayed a psychologist, who was in love with the protagonist’s twin sister. This was a supporting role; nonetheless, his acting and his physical appearance managed to garner the attention of both females and males; therefore, he was often mentioned in various Mexican magazines and TV shows.
On May 13, 2013, this soap opera premiered in a prime-time slot and was watched, every night, by millions of viewers. It is currently being broadcasted in television networks of other countries, such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Romania, and in a handful of other territories around the globe.
Currently, Mr. Henao is in Mexico City, Mexico filming the melodrama “La Impostora” (The Imposter), which is scheduled to air, next year, on Telemundo. It has been reported that after his participation in this soap, he will return to Televisa to partake in a production that is currently under wraps.
