There have been a number of different stars over the years, who have managed to play a number of different characters on the comic book movie scene, with some being much more successful than others. Following the terrible flop that was the Green Lantern movie, we were all delighted when Ryan Reynolds gave us his fantastic performance as Deadpool, with the success of the film leading to a sequel coming our way.
Which brings us to Josh Brolin, who already stars in the role of Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is now set to appear as Cable in Deadpool 2. Josh has now been talking about taking on the role, revealing that he signed on for a four picture deal, although he actually almost rejected the role, before his wife persuaded him to at least read the script for the film.
Brolin explained, "At first I was like, ‘I don’t know. I want to do George and Tammy.’ My wife — thank god — said to just read it. ‘Why are you even talking, just read it.' I was thinking big about the four-picture deal. So, on my phone I remember I read it. It was so irreverent and funny and hysterical that once I got through it I was like, ‘that’s it.’ I had no idea [about] the fan-base. I had no idea what it represented, and I think we’ve made something really special."
While we cannot wait to see what Josh Brolin brings to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his role as Thanos, we do also have to admit that we are very excited about seeing the actor in the role of Cable in Deadpool 2, with the movie sequel set to hit the big screen on June 1, 2018 in both the US and the UK.
