There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the Suicide Squad movie and, while most of the talk has been about what we can expect to get from Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto as The Joker, there have been plenty of other talking points. One such talking point was the rumour that True Blood alum Joe Manganiello was in talks to take on the role of Deathstroke in the film.
However, following weeks of rumours about the possible casting, it was all but confirmed that fellow True Blood alum Jim Parrack has been cast as Deathstroke in the Suicide Squad film. Now, Joe Manganiello has been talking about those rumours and Joe seems to suggest that he was never actually in the running to play Deathstroke at all, but was instead circling another character.
Manganiello was talking with MTV News, when he explained to them, "I was offered a role, [but] it didn't work out. So, some of those rumors are true, but it wasn't for the role that people said."
He added, "I don't know how all these rumors start and how it pops up all over the internet and catches steam, but it wasn't what people thought. So, I don't know who started that one. (hmm) I've worked with [director] David Ayer before, so I would have loved to work with him again, but it just wasn't the right situation."
We have no idea which character in the movie Joe Manganiello was in talks to play but we are sure all will be revealed at some point in the future.
Suicide Squad is scheduled to open on August 5, 2016 in both the US and the UK.
