When a star signs on to play a comic book character on the big screen, it is usually the case that they sign up to a multi-picture deal, which is exactly what happened with most of the stars in the new X-Men movies, including the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and James McAvoy. However, it seems that different stars have different lengths of contracts than others.
It has been made public knowledge that Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender all signed on for a three picture deal, which means that their contract has come to an end, following X-Men: Apocalypse. While it had originally sounded like Jennifer was not going to return, she has now revealed how she, James and Michael have been talking about the future.
Lawrence was speaking with Entertainment Weekly, when she explained, "Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking. Like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are."
She then went on to add, "I would love to come back. I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realize how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest."
X-Men: Apocalypse is out now in the UK but is not set to hit the big screen in the US until May 27.
Which stars would you like to see returning in the next X-Men movie?
