We have known for years now that former Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa is going to play the role of Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, and we have been very excited to see how they are going to deal with the underwater scenes that face the character. We got our first glimpse of Jason as Aquaman in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, while we are going to get a whole lot more in the Justice League movie this year.
Well, we were recently lucky enough to be given a shot of Jason Momoa as Aquaman underwater in Atlantis, to give us a good idea of how these underwater scenes would look, and we have to admit that it did look pretty awesome, although it left a lot of people guessing as to how they shot it. Some people suggested that it was all CGI, including Jason himself, while others claimed that it was actually shot underwater.
Now, director Zack Snyder has spoken out about that underwater scene, as well as sharing a picture of exactly how the scene was shot and what was actually CGI. Zack revealed, "People are wondering whether he was CG or not. He's not...hair and environment CG otherwise all Jason."
Well after seeing these pictures of what the underwater world of Atlantis is going to look like and how Jason Momoa will look as Aquaman in these underwater scenes, we are more excited than ever, not only for the Justice League movie, but also for the Aquaman standalone film. Justice League opens on November 17, with Aquaman set to hit the big screen on October 5, 2018.
