Top Gear has become a bit of a British institution over the years, while making stars of the three hosts of the show. Top Gear is hosted by James May, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson and James May has spoken about becoming a much-loved television personality. James says that he cannot understand why people fuss about three boring middle-aged men.
May explained, "I'm amazed people want pictures of us to be honest, because we're never doing anything salacious. You'll get lots of pictures of us having a cup of tea or a lie down. All it does is reveal we're not very rock 'n' roll - we're all too old for it now, sadly."
He added, "After we've gone people will look back and laugh and say: Do you remember when those three stupid blokes did it? The tall, the short, and the floppy-haired one? Isn't it old-fashioned? Because everything is, eventually. But it's not over yet."
It will be interesting to see just how long these three motor loving men can continue to do the show for. After all, Jeremy Clarkson is 55, James May is 50 and Richard Hammond is 45. We would love to see them do the show forever but, unfortunately, all good things come to an end, eventually!
The new season of Top Gear airs on Sunday nights.
