When we hear the name George Takei, most of us immediately think of him in the role of Mr. Sulu in the cult classic television series Star Trek (1966-69), alongside with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. He appeared in the role again as the Star Trek series returned in (1973-4). This is no doubt his most loved and well-known character, but George has also gone on to appear in a host of other series and films.

George has made appearances in scores of television series through the years such as Perry Mason (1959); Hawaiian Eye (1960-61); General Hospital (1963); The Twilight Zone (1964); Death Valley Days (1965); My Three Sons (1964-5) and I Spy (1965-6). These are a just a few of the many. George Takei has 179 acting credits in his massive portfolio, which is mind blowing. His popularity skyrocketed and today his name is still the equivalent of a household word.
George has also been involved in many of the Star Trek films that have been produced since the original series. His niche, however, beyond Star Trek has been mostly in TV series such as Malcolm in the Middle (2006); Will and Grace (2006); Drawn Together (2006); Psych (2006); According to Jim (2007); Kim Possible (2003-7). He became a great sensation and has been in great demand. In essence, George Takei has all of the work that he cares to handle.

His most recent work includes miscellaneous voices in The Simpsons (1991-2013); Ultimate Spiderman (2013); the voice of S.T.E.V.E in Free Birds (2013) and Snake Man in the television series Lost Girl (2013). George Takei remains an icon in film history, and he continues to add to his vast repertoire, much to the delight of his many fans.
