Recently, the Mexican actress and host Galilea Montijo who came to the spotlight as a model in the early 1990s—opened up, for the very first time, about her life as a mother to 1 year old son Mateo.
On March 23, 2012, the Mexican beauty gave birth in Miami, Florida to a healthy baby boy. In the hospital, she was accompanied by her husband of two years, Fernando Reina, and a few family members. Galilea waited a long time to become a mother and was filled with joy when it finally occurred. The only thing that she was unhappy with was the weight gain attained from the pregnancy, because she was already scheduled to host a children’s talent-reality show the same month of the delivery. Mrs. Reina managed to lose all the baby weight with a strict protein diet she undertook for three months.
The actress also mentioned that she used to think it was cute when Mateo turned grouchy on her for no reason, but she later realized that it's not right to praise your baby for this. As a first time mother, she found it quite difficult to teach her son about behavior, but after some time, she was able to do so.
Currently, the always smiling Montijo is a co-host in the Mexican morning show “Hoy” on Televisa—alongside Andrea Legarreta and Raul Araiza. It has been reported that, for the first time, Galilea feels fulfilled in life and thanks God every day for having Mateo by her side.
