When it was announced that DC and Warner Bros. were bringing Wonder Woman to the big screen, making her debut in the recently released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there were a lot of excited fans around the world, with a number of stars being linked to the role. However, when it was revealed that Gal Gadot had been cast in the role, there were a lot of disappointed fans and critics of her ability to pull off the role.
However, after seeing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a lot of these critics were won over, with Gal Gadot being one of the best things about the movie as a whole. This has given the doubters a lot of renewed hope for the Wonder Woman standalone movie, which has been filming for a few weeks now, and we have to admit that we are very much looking forward to it.
Meanwhile, Gal Gadot has admitted that she feels honored to play such a strong female character and she hopes that it will lead to a lot more female superheroes coming to the big screen. Gal was answering questions from fans, when she explained, "It feels great! Being a mother, it’s very important that #WonderWoman comes back to life, we need more female superheros."
As well as starring Gal Gadot in the lead role, the Wonder Woman cast also includes such Hollywood stars as Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Chris Pine, and Connie Nielsen. Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins, based on the screenplay developed by Jason Fuchs, with the movie set to hit the big screen on June 23, 2017.
