Following the mediocre first season of The CW television series The Carrie Diaries, a lot of people were surprised to learn that the show had been renewed for a second season. So, when it was announced that The Carrie Diaries had been cancelled after the second season, it was not exactly a surprise, although that does not mean the cast were not disappointed by the news.
Actress AnnaSophia Robb starred in the role of Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries and, while she was obviously upset at the show being cancelled, she has seen her movie career boosted by it. AnnaSophia has one movie which is already in post-production, while she also has another three in development, which she will be able to film now that her time has been freed up from her The Carrie Diaries commitments.
AnnaSophia Robb will next be seen on the big screen in the movie A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island, which boast an impressive cast including such names as Dianna Agron, Minnie Driver, Maggie Q, Ed Westwick, John Leguizamo, Frank Grillo, Mary McCormack and Christopher McDonald. A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island is written and directed by Aram Rappaport and is expected to open later in the year.
Meanwhile, AnnaSophia Robb will star with Aimee Teegarden, Douglas Booth, Anne Heche, and Billy Crudup in the movie Life at These Speeds, followed by the film Anything But Ordinary, which co-stars Emma Roberts. Finally, AnnaSophia Robb will star in the movie Just Like Beauty, which is based on the Lisa Lerner novel.
While it is obvious that AnnaSophia Robb would have been disappointed by the cancellation of The Carrie Diaries, it is also obvious that her movie career has been boosted by the free time she now has.
